Abass Dodoo


Abass was born into a family of renowned royal drummers and was formally trained by his uncle, Ghanaian master musician Mustapha Tettey Addy, playing with the Royal Obonu Drummers from the age of ten. He is a drummer, teacher, cultural educator and founder of One-Drum Collective and currently percussionist in Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion, touring the world. He has been delivering workshops, performance and team building events nationally and internationally for the past 30 years. Through his educational workshops Abass brings a depth of understanding and awareness of his African cultural heritage to our contemporary, multicultural society.
